THE INFLUENCE OF ANTICIPATION REACTION GUIDE STRATEGY TOWARD STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION

Abstract

This research aimed to know the Influence of Anticipation Reaction Strategy toward Students’ Reading Comprehension of MAN 3 Indramayu the academic year of 2017/2018. True experimental research was used to do the investigation. The research design used pre-test and post-test with control group and the experiment group applied Anticipation Reaction Guide Strategy. The population of the research was all X grades of MAN 3 Indramayu. The sampling technique was done randomly. The sample of this research was consisted of 17 students X MIPA 1 as the experimental group and 17 students ofX MIPA 2 as the control group.For collecting the data, there were pre-test and post-test for both two classes, and the treatment of Anticipation Reaction Guide Strategy was given to experimental. The test was consisted of 10 multiple choices and 5 essays. The research hypothesis used t test. This research concluded that Anticipation Reaction Guide Strategy influence toward Students’ Reading Comprehension in activating students’ background knowledge in knowing the topic and predicting the next text. It was shown from the score improvement of students’ reading comprehension.
